Lau Provincial Council: Promoting Progress and Cultural Heritage
Lau Province consists of 13 tikina, 13 vanua, and 72 villages, spread across the eastern islands of Fiji. It is home to 73 yavusa, 228 mataqali, and 465 tokatoka, reflecting deep traditional roots. Despite geographic distance, Lau’s communities are united by strong leadership and effective governance. The province values sustainability, especially in fisheries and marine resource management. Lau’s people are proactive in addressing climate challenges through innovation and cooperation. The province continues to invest in education, renewable energy, and community resilience to build a better future for all.
